Play Baccarat by Pragmatic Play Live with Bitcoin and other supported cryptocurrencies at BitFortune crypto casino. Bet on Player, Banker or Tie as a real dealer handles every round live from the Pragmatic Play studio.

The rules are compact, but the three main wagers are not mathematically equal. Banker and Player bets cover the same basic contest with different drawing conditions, while Tie offers a larger payout for a much less common result. Understanding that distinction is more useful than trying to read patterns into previous hands.

Choose Your Baccarat Bet

Every round begins with the same decision. You are not betting against another player or choosing which cards are drawn; you are selecting the result you expect the table to produce.

BetWinning ConditionStandard Payout
PlayerThe Player hand finishes closer to 91:1
BankerThe Banker hand finishes closer to 91:1 minus the table commission
TieBoth hands finish with the same totalCommonly 8:1

The names Player and Banker identify the two positions on the table. A Player bet does not mean that your own cards are being dealt and a Banker bet does not mean that you are playing on behalf of the casino. Both hands are controlled by fixed baccarat drawing rules.

How Baccarat Card Values Work

Baccarat totals are calculated differently from blackjack. The aim is not to reach 21 and cards cannot make a hand go bust. Each hand is reduced to a value from 0 to 9.

  • Aces are worth 1.
  • Cards 2–9 keep their face value.
  • 10, Jack, Queen and King are worth 0.
  • Only the final digit of a two-digit total counts.
CardsCombined ValueBaccarat Total
7 + 8155
King + 999
6 + 6122
Ace + 344

For example, a hand containing 7 and 8 totals 15, but its baccarat value is 5. A King and 9 produce a total of 9 because the King contributes zero. The winning hand is whichever finishes closer to nine after all required cards have been dealt.

What Happens During a Baccarat Round?

  1. Betting opens. Choose Player, Banker, Tie or an available side bet and place the intended stake.
  2. Betting closes. No further chips can be added to the current hand.
  3. Two cards are dealt. The dealer reveals two cards for Player and two for Banker.
  4. Natural totals are checked. A total of 8 or 9 is a natural and usually ends the drawing stage immediately.
  5. A third card may be dealt. Fixed rules determine whether Player or Banker receives another card.
  6. The result is settled. The hand closer to 9 wins, or the round ends in a Tie when both totals match.

The important point is that players do not choose whether either hand draws or stands. There are no hit, stand, split or double-down decisions. Once the wager is placed, the dealer and game system apply the baccarat drawing rules automatically.

The Third-Card Rule Without the Confusion

The Player hand follows a simple drawing rule. The Banker hand is more conditional because its action can depend on both its own total and the value of a third card drawn to Player.

TotalAction
Natural 8–9Stand
Player 0–5Draw
Player 6–7Stand
Banker 0–2Draw
Banker 7Stand
Banker 3–6Conditional*

Banker action can depend on the Player's third card.

Banker, Player or Tie: Which Baccarat Bet Is Better?

The three main baccarat bets have different risk and payout profiles. Banker has a small mathematical advantage under standard rules, Player is close behind with a simple even-money payout, and Tie pays more because matching hand totals occur far less often.

BetProfileStandard Payout
BankerLowest main-bet house edge1:1 minus commission*
PlayerLow house edge1:1
TieHigher riskCommonly 8:1

Standard Banker commission rules can vary by table mode. Check the Baccarat paytable before betting.

Banker is generally the strongest main bet mathematically, while Tie carries a substantially higher house edge under common baccarat rules. Previous Banker, Player or Tie results do not change the probability of the next hand.

How to Read Baccarat Roads

Baccarat displays previous results through roadmaps. The Bead Plate shows hands in chronological order, while the Big Road groups consecutive Banker and Player results into columns, making streaks and switches between the two outcomes easier to see.

Big Eye Boy, Small Road and Cockroach Pig go a step further. These derived roads compare the structure of the Big Road and use red or blue marks to show whether its pattern is developing consistently or changing. The colours do not represent Banker and Player bets.

Baccarat roads are useful for reading the table's recorded history at a glance. They do not change the odds of the next hand or turn a previous pattern into a prediction.

Main Baccarat Bets vs Side Bets

Player, Banker and Tie are the main Baccarat bets. Side bets target additional card or hand conditions and are settled according to their own rules.

  • Main bets: Player, Banker or Tie. Banker and Player generally have lower house edges and lower standard payouts.
  • Side bets: Specific card or hand outcomes. They can offer larger payouts, but the required results usually occur less often.

Check the Baccarat paytable before adding a side bet. A larger payout does not automatically mean better value because the probability of the required outcome also matters.

Play Live Baccarat with Crypto at BitFortune

Live Baccarat is a part of the BitFortune casino games collection, where a crypto funded casino balance can be used across different game formats. Players can move from a live baccarat table to crypto slots or play in-house BitFortune Originals without creating a separate balance for each casino category.

BitFortune also adds platform rewards around eligible casino play. Instant rakeback returns part of qualifying activity through the rewards system, while weekly rewards give active players another layer of account-based benefits. VIP progression can provide additional rewards as activity grows.

More Pragmatic Play Casino Games at BitFortune

Baccarat asks players to follow a two-hand card result in real time. Pragmatic Play slots use a completely different format built around reels, paylines or symbol-based features, making them a clear alternative when a live dealer table is not the type of game you want to play.

  • Gates of Olympus Super Scatter uses a reel-based Pragmatic Play format centred on scatter symbols and feature mechanics rather than live card outcomes.
  • Sugar Rush 1000 offers cluster-style slot gameplay for players looking to move away from the Player-versus-Banker structure of baccarat.
  • Sweet Bonanza 1000 provides another Pragmatic Play slot option with symbol combinations and slot features instead of a dealer-led table.

The broader BitFortune slots collection includes more providers and game styles, while Baccarat remains available through the live section whenever you want to return to a real-time card table.

Set Limits Before the Shoe Starts Running

Set a session budget and maximum stake before joining the Baccarat table. When a main Player or Banker wager is combined with side bets, calculate the full amount placed across the hand rather than viewing each chip as a separate small bet.

A predetermined stopping point also makes it easier to end a session without increasing stakes to recover previous losses. BitFortune provides further account and play-management information in its responsible gambling guide.
